“The League of Muslims in Belgium condemns in the strongest possible terms this barbaric act that led to the deaths of innocent people at the Jewish Museum of Belgium this Saturday, May 24, 2014.

These crimes with racist and anti-Semitic undertones are, unfortunately, likely to set back the efforts of all those in our country who, on a daily basis, work towards a society where everyone, regardless of their religious and philosophical beliefs, can live with dignity and respect.

MLB calls upon the various religious, political and civil society associations to come together to promote living together in harmony and to fight against racism and hatred.

MLB calls on the authorities to investigate this terrible tragedy, to apprehend the perpetrators and punish them firmly.

Finally, our thoughts are with the families of the victims. We share their pain and offer our sincere condolences.”   League of Muslims in Belgium
